The smile you see
Isn't real
the optimistic girl you know
Isn't really free
from the depression inside her
When she laughs at a joke
she's really falling apart
The girl who says she's okay
has a hurting heart
from the loss of her loved one
when she said she was cold
she doesn't want you to see the scars
When she says' happy
She'll start crying when you're far
and wishes you had stayed
She said she just ate
but she's really starving
and thinks she's overweight
and when you think you understand
you know can't relate
She says to go away
but she wants to see if you care
when she says she has hope
she is in total despair
of what her life has become
look at her and truly see
That girl she says she is
That happy girl I said I am
Is not me.
I wrote a poem today,
I wrote it on my wrist,
I wrote it with a razor,
It ended in a twist.
The blade is sharp and narrow,
I do it to kill the pain,
But as I finished the first sentence,
The razor hit the vein.
I watched the poem run down my hand,
I watched it hit the floor,
I saw a puddle of blood,
And then I saw no more.

She has secrets
She has fears
She hates it when
You see her tears
She hates weakness
She hates Pain
She shouts
At the world in vain
She wants to escape
But there's no where to run
No longer a child
Life is not fun
The monster under her bed
Has left
Her only monster
Is in her chest
This monster won't disappear
When she turns on the light
All she can do now
Is fight.
